Picking Green Weed Treats for Budgies

Dr Ross Perry is an avian vet in Australia. In this video he shows you a series of plants that many would refer to as garden and lawn weeds that can be offered as treats to budgies. He picks the green weeds, and advises on how to offer them to your parakeet. He also points out a few weeds that are unhealthy for your birds.

The green treats include chickweed, dandelion, milk thistle, winter grass, poa grass, rye grass, shepherds purse, sub-clover, buffalo grass, medic and green bindy eye.

Dr Perry emphasizes the principle of offering a little of a lot rather than a lot of a little! Variety is essential.
