Budgies Attack Dandelion

Yes, budgies / parakeets love dandelion leaves. Watch these lovely birds go for them!

It’s a good thing, too, as dandelion greens are wonderful for their health.

They generally prefer the young, fresh dandelion sprouts, as they taste very mild. But as you can see, they love the darker greens too.

If you are starting your birds on dandelion leaves, don’t give them too much at a time. The milky juice inside the leaves can lead to diarrhoea in the beginning, although it soon goes away. Once the digestive system adjusts to the juice, you can offer more at once.
